Vermont State Police are asking for your help in solving a Guilford burglary. On Sunday, State Police were contacted by a homeowner in the area of Coolidge Highway, reporting their home had been burglarized. Troopers arrived on scene and found the residence had signs of forced entry and various items were stolen. One of the stolen items was a gold in color, 2014, Subaru outback bearing a Vermont registration. The investigation is ongoing at this time and anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Trooper Gregory Mills. 

A resolution in support of a Pregnant Persons’ Access to Abortion will get further discussion from the Brattleboro Select board Tuesday. The resolution was offered by
Selectboard member Jessica Gelter at the July 19 meeting. The Board is asked to continue to consider the issue in light of the recent Supreme Court Decision and to review the Resolution included in the meeting materials. It is uncertain if the Board will act on the resolution, or if further work on the resolution will be required in light of the continued discussion.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders on Tuesday will hold a livestream Question and answer discussion with the White House’s COVID-19 Response Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha. Sanders plans to discuss what’s going on now with the pandemic, what the future may hold, and the best ways to stay safe and healthy. Both the senator and Dr. Jha will also take questions sent in by viewers.

A New Hampshire woman faces drug charges for an incident in Dummerston. Vermont state police say 28-year-old Courtney Lafayette was charged after state police investigated multiple 911 calls reporting a female walking in the middle of Middle Road. Lafayette was subsequently placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and possession of suspected fentanyl and was ordered to appear in Vermont Superior Court Windham County Criminal Division September 27th.

Vermont’s The Working Lands Enterprise Board has released two requests for Vermont working lands service provider organizations and producer associations to invest in projects focused on governance, leadership, building workforce development, and executive business skills. Vermont-based nonprofit producer association groups that represent and promote Vermont agriculture, food, beverage, forest, or fiber products are welcome to apply. Service Provider Grant projects will include the provision of direct and indirect services to support the development of Vermont-based working lands businesses through business assistance such as marketing plans, business and financial planning.

Farmers are getting ready to welcome the public to their farms soon. Vermont Open Farm Week is celebrating its 8th year. Starting next Sunday more than 50 farms across the state will be holding about 100 events to take people behind-the-scenes at the farm. That’ll go until August 14th.

Vermont State Police say on Friday they got a call about a burglary alarm at the Ace Bibens Hardware store on River Road in North Springfield. They say 38-year-old Bradley Elliott forced his way in, stole several things and then sold them. He’s being held on 10-thousand dollars bail and is scheduled to appear in court Monday. A second man was also arrested for taking items from the store. 33-year-old Justin Wallace of Springfield was found with possession of the stolen property. He will be in court on Sept. 13th.

Congratulations to the Brattleboro U-12 Little League All Stars, they are Vermont State Champions after beating Williston on Saturday 8-1 in St. Albans. Brattleboro advances to the New England Regional, where they will face Maine in Bristol Connecticut on Saturday at 10am.

Back-to-back doubles in the 5th helped power the Red Sox past the Brewers on Sunday, 7-2. Boston visits Houston tonight, Nathan Eovaldi on the mound for Boston, first pitch is at 8pm.

Salvador Perez hit a three-run homer to lead Kansas City past the Yankees on Sunday, 8-6. The Yankees host Seattle tonight, Domingo Germain on the mound for New York, first pitch is at 7:05.
