On Tuesday at 5 PM, Brattleboro Police, aided by Vermont State Police, executed a search warrant at a residence on Harris Place. During the operation, Officers confiscated a significant quantity of Fentanyl and Crack Cocaine, a substantial amount of cash, and numerous firearms. The investigation led to criminal charges against residents Ella Thorne-Thomsen and Scott Kielbasa for Cruelty to a Child, Fentanyl Trafficking, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of a Firearm While Committing a Felony. Both individuals were held on a $5000 bail and were detained at the Brattleboro Police Department, and appeared in Windham County Superior Court yesterday.

 

Authorities are searching for a man from Upper Valley with an extensive criminal record who reportedly evaded police on Tuesday. The Lebanon Police have identified Adam Adolph, 35, from White River Junction, as a suspect involved in several recent vehicle chases in Hartford and Lebanon. On Tuesday, officers attempted to stop a silver Toyota Prius believed to be driven by Adolph, but he fled the scene, driving erratically and nearly colliding head-on with a police cruiser. Police describe Adolph as violent and unpredictable, advising that anyone who sees him should not approach but instead contact law enforcement at 603-448-1212.

 

On Wednesday, shortly before noon, the Vermont State Police were requested by the Vernon Fire Department to respond to Vernon Estates. Upon engaging with the individuals at the location, it was discovered that Addyson Morgan (28) of Vernon had an active Federal Probation Violation related to the sale of regulated drugs. Morgan was arrested and subsequently handed over to the US Marshall Service.

 

Two people were arrested on outstanding warrants at a park and ride Oct. 18th in Putney. A Vermont State Police trooper made contact, and through an investigation, it was determined that both individuals had active warrants for their arrest. Allen Pike, 46, of Burlington, had three warrants for eluding, false information to law enforcement and retail theft. Jennifer Monness, 42, of Burlington, had an active warrant for a probation violation. Both were arrested and lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility.

 

Some positive news about the persistent dry conditions in Vermont: Recent rainfall is aiding in alleviating the drought affecting the state. The latest U.S. Drought Monitor report indicates significant improvement in conditions along the eastern Green Mountains. Recent precipitation has reduced that area from “Extreme Drought” to “Severe Drought”. Overall, extreme drought now affects only 47% of the state, a notable decrease from last week when 59% was classified as extremely dry.

 

Brattleboro will host the annual Halloween Horribles Parade and BrattleBOO event, which includes downtown trick-or-treating. Kids can go store-to-store for treats from 5 to 7 p.m. Look for a pumpkin decal on the doorways of participating businesses.. and a Trunk-or-Treat at the Gibson-Aiken Center’s back parking lot, and The Horribles Parade starts at 6 p.m. at the Brattleboro Co-op and marches up Main Street.
