On Thursday at 4:30am, Brattleboro Police Officers responded to a disturbance on Valley Road. John R. King assaulted a family member and was taken into custody with the help of Vermont State Police in Vernon. King was held without bail at Southern State Correctional Facility after being transported to Brattleboro Police Department. He was set for arraignment in Windham County Superior Court yesterday.

 

Airlines, banks, and 911 dispatchers experienced network issues from Microsoft cloud, causing long lines at South Burlington airport on Friday morning. The Federal Aviation Administration halted flights for Delta, United, and American Airlines. American Airlines confirmed operations were back to normal by 5 a.m. Passengers faced delays due to computer system failures while checking bags. Airport traffic started to normalize by 6 a.m., but delays were still expected. Burlington International Airport Director Nic Longo reported no flight cancellations by 10 a.m. due to the morning outages.

 

A crash in Bradford involving multiple cars led to a Brattleboro man being charged with DUI and gross negligent operation. Police responded to Main Street near Barton Street around 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Matthew Jackson, 36, hit a Toyota Tacoma head-on before hitting a pole and causing it to fall onto a parked car. Jackson was arrested for suspicion of DUI and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 18 in Orange County. His pick-up truck was seized by police as evidence. No information on injuries to the occupants of the other car is available.

 

Vermont Route 121 will be closed from 5:00 p.m. Monday, 7/22 through 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, 7/24 for concrete placement on the northbound bridge deck. Message boards have been updated for the
public. The detour route will utilize U.S. Route 5, the I-91 Access Road,
and Back Westminster Road. Otherwise, one-lane alternating traffic
regulated by temporary signals at the location of the interstate
bridges will be in effect on VT 121 Monday through Friday.

 

Police are searching for a missing Vermont woman. Vermont State Police say Cassie Boomhower, 26, was last seen on Avenue A in St. Johnsbury Thursday at about 9pm She was reported missing Friday
morning. Troopers say there are concerns for Boomhower’s welfare.
Anyone who knows where to find her is asked to call the barracks in
St. Johnsbury at 802-748-3111.

 

The 82-year-old Enosburg woman reported missing on Wednesday has sparked suspicion among police. Authorities are seeking information from individuals who were in the Butternut Hollow Road area between Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon. Roberta Martin, from Enosburg, last spoke with her family around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and has not been heard from since. Neighbors reported her missing just before noon on Wednesday when she was not at home. Investigators believe her disappearance is suspicious, but details cannot be disclosed at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
