Brattleboro Police are investigating an assault reported Tuesday afternoon. Just after 3  P M,  Police responded to 33 Oak Street. On arrival, they located an unconscious male with head trauma, who was then transported to the hospital in serious condition. A man was reportedly seen quickly walking away from the area immediately following the assault. This is an active investigation and the name of the victim will not be released at this time.

 A wayward bull moose was relocated, from the City of Keene, to habitat much more appropriate for a rutting moose. New Hampshire fish and game Conservation Officers, say the moose had been in the area for several days and was becoming a traffic hazard. Biologists utilized a dart gun to immobilize the moose. It was then loaded into a trailer and transported to a rural area where it was successfully released.

 Brattleboro’s Public Works Department has set the dates for the curbside  fall leaf collection. Pick up will be Friday’s November third and November 17th.All leaves and clippings must be in brown paper leaf bags and at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on scheduled leaf collection days. Acceptable waste…leaves, grass, clippings, garden waste, twigs, no branches larger than 1 inch; in diameter and 2 feet long. No other household trash is to be included. Town leaf collection is designated for single family residences or apartment buildings with 2, 3 or 4 units. NO PLASTIC BAGS or other containers will be accepted.

Vermont Senator Peter Welch  provided opening remarks at a Senate hearing  in support of Vermonter Michael Whitaker, who was nominated by President Biden to serve as Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration.  Welch applauded Whitaker for his work in the F A A, and with American Airlines, calling him the right man for the job. The New Hampshire Department of Safety’s Division of Emergency Services and Communications has launched the 911 Citizens’ Assistance Registry for Emergency Services.   New Hampshire 911 C.A.R.E.S.  allows individuals to associate a phone number with an individual who has a chronic medical condition or with an address where hazardous materials are stored. When NH 911 is called from a phone number registered in C.A.R.E.S., the NH 911 telecommunicator answering the call has immediate access to the information that has been submitted to the CARES database. If this program sounds familiar, that’s because 911 C.A.R.E.S. is the new name of our revamped Supplemental ALI Medical Information database that has been used previously.

 

A former attorney in the Vermont Office of Legislative Counsel, has been appointed director of corporations in the Office of the Vermont Secretary of State. In his new role, David Hall will oversee the critical mission of transparency and accountability in the business services division of the agency The division handles filings for all business types and manages more than 225,000 entities in its database.
