Windham Southeast Superintendent Mark Speno says a mistake was made during one of the three covid 19 vaccination clinics for students aged five thru 12. A student whose parents did not consent to vaccination was mistaken for a student whose parents did consent. School officials are deeply sorry that this mistake happened and have worked internally on screening procedures. The Health Department has worked to evaluate its procedures to ensure that this does not happen again. Speno says the district takes it’s responsibilities to students and families very seriously, and respect parents’ rights to make healthcare decisions for their children. The district will have increased screening measures in place at the next clinics.
